Harmonious Integration and Sustainability: A Contemporary Family Home

Inspired by local architectural culture, the two-story family home presents itself as a successful fusion of tradition and modernity. The compact form with a pitched roof, oriented perpendicular to the slope, seamlessly blends into the surrounding urban context.

On the ground floor, a generous glass facade, facing north and south, opens up a seamless transition between indoor and outdoor spaces. Here, the kitchen takes center stage, exuding inviting warmth thanks to a central wood stove. A sculptural steel staircase elegantly leads to the upper floor, where the bedrooms and bathrooms are located, complemented by a spacious foyer serving as a home office, study room, and space for household chores. Thanks to its hillside location, the upper floor offers direct access to the garden on the hillside.

The choice of materials has been carefully calibrated to local conditions: reinforced concrete with washed surface and natural, rough-sawn larch characterize the exterior appearance, while inside, mineral-based spatula floors and exposed concrete surfaces with wooden formwork ensure aesthetic continuity.

Sustainability is at the core of this project, powered by a heat pump and photovoltaic system, thus independent of fossil fuels. As a zero-emission building, it represents a clear signal of ecological responsibility and a livable future for generations to come.
